The short answer

If you only want Grok Bot, start with the cheapest plan you would pay for anyway: Cursor Pro ($20 a month) if you code in Cursor or want nothing else, or a linked SuperGrok ($30) if you would also use Grok. Move up to Pro+ ($60) or Ultra ($200) only after a week of real work shows you hitting the weekly limit. Never buy a second subscription for more Grok Bot usage, because a Cursor plan and a SuperGrok link do not stack.

Cursor publishes the allowances only as relative tiers, not numbers, and a Cursor staff member said on September 21 that usage configuration is changing a lot, so check current values in your Cursor dashboard. Decide by what you already pay for

Most people already have one of these subscriptions. Grok Bot usage is metered on your Cursor account either way; a SuperGrok or X Premium+ link grants usage to that Cursor account while the subscription stays active.

Decide by how much you will use it

The tiers line up by name only. Cursor's plans page ranks Pro below Pro+ below Ultra, and SuperGrok below Plus below Heavy, but it does not compare Pro with SuperGrok or Pro+ with Plus. The one cross-comparison on record is at the top, where Cursor staff say Ultra and Heavy are equal. X Premium+ sits below SuperGrok Plus.

The light, regular and heavy grouping is our editorial suggestion, not Cursor's. Usage is measured in agent steps and tokens, not messages, so one long browser task can cost more than dozens of short replies. If you run out, the documented way to keep going is on-demand usage with a monthly limit, not a second plan.

Cursor Ultra or SuperGrok Heavy?

For Grok Bot they are the same tier. A Cursor staff member said on September 10 that both give the highest weekly Grok Bot quota, that neither gives more than the other, and that there is no difference in models, speed or priority. Another staff reply on September 22 said there is no tier above Ultra and that Cursor does not publish a dollar figure for the weekly allowance.

The difference is everything else. Ultra is a Cursor subscription that also includes Ultra-level usage for the Cursor editor, Agent and Cloud Agents. Heavy is an xAI subscription that includes SuperGrok Heavy features on grok.com and in the Grok apps, and does not include a Cursor plan. Ultra is $200 a month and Heavy $300, so if you want only Grok Bot, Ultra is the cheaper way to the top tier. The same staff reply said the earlier offer of free Cursor Ultra with SuperGrok Heavy ended at the end of August.

Three rules to know before you pay

Plans do not stack. On Pro+, linking SuperGrok Plus adds no usage; with Heavy linked, buying Cursor Ultra adds none either. Both subscriptions keep billing on their own. xAI's FAQ says the same thing another way: Grok Bot uses whichever subscription has more usage.

A link is permanent. A SuperGrok or X Premium+ link cannot be unlinked or moved to another Cursor account, so sign in with the right Cursor account first. If you upgrade SuperGrok after linking, allow up to 24 hours for weekly usage to move to the new tier; you do not link again.

Changing Cursor plan does change usage. Moving from Pro+ to Ultra raises included Grok Bot usage to the Ultra tier, and a downgrade lowers it the same way.

Teams and Enterprise

On a self-serve Cursor Teams plan, Grok Bot is on by default for every member, with no Premium seat or admin request, unless the team uses Privacy Mode (Legacy) or a legacy request-based plan. Usage follows the seat's allowance, a higher seat raises weekly usage, and on-demand usage is enabled by default on Teams. A personal SuperGrok link does not add to a seat.

On Enterprise, an admin turns Grok Bot on from the Grok Bot page of the Cursor dashboard and can limit it to specific groups. Request-based Teams plans and Enterprise seats do not take a personal SuperGrok link; Grok Bot stays on the Cursor contract.

Quick answers

Can I combine Cursor Pro and SuperGrok for more Grok Bot usage?

No. Cursor's billing page says a Cursor plan and a SuperGrok or X Premium+ link do not stack, and xAI's FAQ says Grok Bot uses whichever subscription has more usage. Both subscriptions keep billing separately; only the usage grants do not combine. For more usage, upgrade within Cursor plans or turn on on-demand usage.

Is Cursor Ultra or SuperGrok Heavy better for Grok Bot?

Neither. A Cursor staff member said on September 10 that both are the same top tier, with the same weekly quota, models, speed and priority, and on September 22 another said there is no tier above Ultra. Ultra is $200 a month and adds Cursor editor usage; Heavy is $300 and adds SuperGrok Heavy features in Grok. The free Cursor Ultra offer with Heavy ended at the end of August.

Can I move my SuperGrok link to another Cursor account?

No. Cursor says a SuperGrok or X Premium+ link is permanent once created: you cannot unlink it or move it to a different Cursor account. Sign in with the Cursor account you intend to keep before linking.

What is the cheapest way to get Grok Bot?

Cursor Pro at $20 a month is the lowest listed price that includes Grok Bot, followed by SuperGrok at $30. X Premium+ can also be linked, but its price is set by X and not listed on x.ai/bot. If your account is offered the usage-credit trial, it never turns into a paid plan.

What happens when I run out before the week resets?

Work stops unless on-demand usage is on. With on-demand enabled, extra usage is billed through Cursor up to your On-demand monthly limit, which does not stop a run already in progress. Cursor's billing page says on-demand, not a second subscription, is the way to get more usage past the included grant.
